This film is based on the book "Das grüne Paradoxon – Plädoyer für eine illusionsfreie Klimapolitik“ by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Hans-Werner Sinn, President of the Ifo Institute for Economic Research at the University of Munich.
Germany is actively committed to environmental policies. But does all that have the desired effect? What happens with the fossil fuels that are economised on in Germany and Europe? Where CO2 gets into the atmosphere is irrelevant to the climate. The owners of the resources consider green policies to be a threat to sales markets and try to forestall this threat by stepping up extraction – this effect is called the 'green paradox'.
